Principal's Corner

Dear West Junior High School Community,

With great pride and excitement, I write this letter as we prepare to begin the 2023-2024 school year at West Junior High School. This year will be my fifteenth year as an educator and my twelfth year as a school administrator. This past school year, I gratefully served as principal at West Junior High School, where I experienced the dedication to excellence among the students, faculty, staff, and community.

Along with the West Junior High School faculty and staff, I will work hard to continue to carry out the vision of our Superintendent, Dr. Versie Hamlett, for Fayette County Public Schools. We play a fundamental role in positioning students for future success as an entire school. I believe in teamwork and will work closely with you, community members, and parents to ensure our children achieve their full potential and are prepared for the next phase in their educational careers.

While things are consistently progressing in Fayette County Public Schools, as educators, we all know there is still work to do. We must remain focused on providing our students with a tremendous academic and behavioral foundation. However, I am confident that working together will overcome challenges and ensure our children receive the quality education they deserve.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. My door is always open, and I welcome input from you. Don’t hesitate to contact me by phone or email. I believe that one of the most vital attributes of West Junior High School will be our relationship with our students, each other, and the school community. I plan to foster that connection during my tenure as principal.

Respectfully,

Brian L. Cunningham, Ed.D.
