Dr. Griffith

Dr. Tamara Griffith is the Principal of West Junior High School. A seasoned and passionate educational leader, she brings a dynamic blend of instructional expertise, administrative experience, and student-centered leadership to her role.

 

Dr. Griffith earned her Ed.D. in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University, an M.A. in School Counseling from Cambridge College, and a B.A. in English Education from Bethel College. Her career spans multiple areas of education, including service as a high school English teacher, middle school ELA and STEM teacher, school counselor, literacy coach, and assistant principal at both the elementary and high school levels.

 

Her broad background and proven track record in strengthening instruction, improving student achievement, and cultivating inclusive school cultures make her a tremendous asset to West Junior High. She is committed to enhancing student engagement, elevating academic performance, and supporting teachers in creating classrooms where every student feels seen, challenged, and prepared for success. Her dual expertise in counseling and instructional coaching also equips her to meet both the academic and social-emotional needs of junior high students.

 

Dr. Griffith looks forward to partnering with families, staff, and students to build a thriving school environment. Outside of school, she enjoys roller skating, cheering on the Memphis Grizzlies, and spending time with family and friends.
