Ms. Lax

Mrs. Natalie Lax, Assistant Principal

Natalie Lax holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Austin Peay University and a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in ELA and Special Education from the University of Mississippi.

Mrs. Lax has a decade of experience in the field of education. She taught high school ELA in Mississippi for several years before transferring to Tennessee, where she spent nine years teaching in the ELA classroom at Bolivar Middle School. She has fulfilled various roles, including softball and track head coach, leadership team member, Crisis Management team member, CPR team member, PBIS Coordinator, and leader of after-school tutoring and summer camp programs.

In her personal life, Mrs. Lax is happily married to her husband, Ryan, and they have a blended family with five children. She has a passion for music and all sports. As Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lax aims to inspire students and staff to strive for excellence and lead by example. She also emphasizes the importance of each teacher and student knowing their worth and feeling strong support from the administration. Mrs. Lax is enthusiastic about serving WJHS and believes the school will be a source of pride and a positive influence within the community.

 
 
 

Dr. CunninghamDr. Brian L. Cunningham, Principal

 
Brian Cunningham, Ed.D., received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lane College in 2008. Next, he received his Master of Education degree in Teaching Skills & Methodologies from Cambridge College in 2012. Lastly, he received his Educational Specialist degree in School Leadership (2014) and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration (2017) from Freed-Hardeman University. He has served twelve years in Fayette County Public Schools as a teacher, principal in elementary, middle, and high school settings. He additionally served in Memphis-Shelby County Schools for one year as the assistant principal for Brownsville Road Elementary. He is a purpose-driven educator that is teacher-oriented and student-focused.
